as a student

Started piano at the age of 4, and violin at the age of 5. Since moving to Calgary from Taipei, Taiwan, Ms. Zoe had been studying in the Mount Royal Conservatory. As a graduate of the Academy for Gifted Youth, Ms. Zoe continued her music studies at University of Calgary and earned her degree in Bachelor of Music, major in Violin Performance. Throughout the years, she had studied under Alla Magid, former CPO member; Bill van der Sloot, the renowned leader in the development of young artist; and Edmond Agopian, violin professor, famous conductor, and member of the U of C Quartet at University of Calgary.

Not only Ms. Zoe had developed well-rounded techniques of violin playing and musicianship, she also obtained various teaching aspects and skills from her teachers. Ms. Zoe had participated in numerous music activities such as recitals, concerts, rehearsals, symphonic orchestras, chamber ensembles, masterclasses, and Kiwanis Music festivals (now the Calgary Performing Arts Festival).

as a student

"Zoe has taught my daughter violin since she was 4.5 years old. She is excellent with children and is able to engage their attention and make the lesson fun, enjoyable and age-appropriate. I love that she is trilingual and that my child is also exposed to a different language during her lesson. It is clear that Zoe is a passionate, dedicated and exceptional teacher and musician!" - D. Luk

as a professional

I love my career as a private music teacher. I also enjoy playing for others just as much as I love teaching. I am an active musician in the local areas of Calgary and Edmonton, providing beautiful music to people at their special occasions. I have played at weddings, proposals, birthday parties, and also in senior homes celebrating Canada Day.

I always seek for opportunities to expand my musical experience, to learn more from other professionals, and to make contribution to the society. I am so appreciated to be in such an environment that there are lots organizations helping and guiding teachers and musicians through all kinds of questions they might have with their careers.
